Self Magazine, November 2008, pages 190-195:  “The Crime Against Women that No One Understands” by Sabrina Rubin Erdely.  The article focuses on a terrible case in Philadelphia, with a man who has been charged with rape 10 times but never convicted.  He met many of his victims through Match.com.  EVAW International staff worked extensively with Sabrina while she was researching this story, and she did an outstanding job of describing the many challenges we face in successfully investigating and prosecuting these cases.

People Magazine, October 27, 2008, pages 83-84:  “She Couldn’t Call It Rape” by Nicole Weisensee Egan.  Tory Bowen reported a sexual assault to police, but when her case came to trial, the judge barred her from using words like ‘rape’ and ‘sexual assault.’  Ostensibly, this was done to protect the rights of the man she accused, but this argument is undermined by the fact that witness testimony is not limited in this way for any other type of crime.
